Pope Francis tells us to “not live a mediocre Christian life: walk with determination along the path of holiness.” The various ministries at Light of the World aspire to guide parishioners and guests along the path of holiness, while growing in fellowship with one another. Whether a young family or adult, lifelong Catholic or non-Catholic, we offer ministry opportunities for every age, vocation, and walk of life.
“As the work of Christ liturgy is also an action of his Church. It makes the Church present and manifests her as the visible sign of the communion in Christ between God and men. It engages the faithful in the new life of the community and involves the “conscious, active, and fruitful participation” of everyone.” – CCC 1071
Our Parish community is rooted in the Eucharist as the “source and summit of the Christian life (CCC 1324).” We are constantly growing as a Parish family, closer to one another and to God through study of scripture, the reception of the Sacraments and serving of our local community.
In the present condition of global society, where injustices abound and growing numbers of people are deprived of basic human rights and considered expendable, the principle of the common good immediately becomes, logically and inevitably, a summons to solidarity and a preferential option for the poorest of our brothers and sisters. – Laudato Si’ 158
