The door that leads the baptized to new life in Christ and a journey initiated by God that causes us to strive for holiness, to become a living disciple of Jesus Christ, ultimately to become a saint. As a Catholic community, together we journey on the path of discipleship through all stages of human development, beginning in early childhood, through elementary age, middle and high school.

Your desire to have your child formed in the Catholic faith is pleasing to our Lord. It is a privilege to support you in this endeavor and, on behalf of Father Matt and the Family Formation Team, we commit to serving your family and accompanying your children as they discover the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.

Children must participate in two years of formation prior to preparing their mind, heart and soul to receive in gratitude the sacraments through which they will encounter Jesus Christ.

There is no single definitive set of ideals for the Catholic Family, but what our Faith Formation Team has developed comes from the Church’s teaching on the life and mission of the baptized and the family. There are six ideals, which flow from the foundational sacrament of Baptism. We developed a number practices under each ideal in an effort to make more concrete how we should live out the gift of Baptism.

Early Childhood

We are privileged to offer children from ages 4 to 6 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). This method of teaching makes space for the Holy Spirit to inspire children during their early childhood in stage of development where they are primed to learn. For more information on this unique teaching methodology click here for more information.

Discovering the love of God

The Level I Atrium (Ages 4-5) offers a dedicated space for our youngest children to develop fine motor skills all while introducing them to the love story between God and his people and engage the child with a sense of wonder.

Sunday: 9:45 to 11:45 AM

Tuesday: 5:00 to 6:30 PM

Wednesday: 4:00 to 5:30 PM

Meeting the Good Shepherd

The Level II Atrium (Age 6) builds upon the work and stories from Atrium Level I allowing the children to explore more deeply the Word of God and to learn about Jesus, the Good Shepherd. The parts of the liturgy, vestments, and sacred vessels will be offered to the children to prepare them to engage in the celebration of Mass on Sunday.

Tuesday: 5:00 to 6:30 PM

Wednesday: 4:00 to 5:30 PM

Elementary

Ages 7-10

Learning sessions for elementary aged children are designed to collaborate with parents in helping their children prepare their hearts to encounter the mercy of Jesus in the sacrament of Reconciliation. The Archdiocese of Denver confers the Sacraments of Initiation in the restored order so the year after receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation, children and parents will explore and learn about the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist in order to be prepared to receive these precious gifts. For an explanation of the Restored Order, click here.  For children who have received the sacraments, we provide learning sessions that are oriented towards using these gifts to build the Kingdom of God with hands-on service and experiences of integrating the faith into their daily life.
