WHO WE ARE: A PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY

As one of the oldest charitable organizations in the world, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization of about 800,000 men and women who join together to grow spiritually and offer person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in 150 countries on five continents.

The Society believes in carrying out our mission of living our faith through charitable works and serving those in need.  The Society serves people regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions.

WHO WE ARE: A PART OF THE DENVER METRO COUNCIL

The Denver Metro Council consists of over 30 parish conferences who receive support, resources, training, and spiritual programs from  council board.

WHO WE ARE: THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CONFERENCE

We are a group of committed parish volunteers dedicated to alleviating the suffering of families in our community through material, emotional, and spiritual support.  Ask us about help with rent, utilities, food, clothing, baby supplies, bus fare, and other compelling needs.

WHAT WE DO

SOCIETY MEMBERS

Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul embrace the charism and spirituality of our Patron Saint,  Vincent de Paul.  His love and service to the poor are an example for us today to “evangelize the poor” and bring to them the wholeness of the love of Jesus Christ in a broken world.

As a Vincentian at Light of the World Parish, you may:

  • go on home visits
  • provide friendship for neighbors in need
  • advocate for the poor
  • help neighbors in need to identify other helpful community resources
  • take calls on our hot line
