“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission.” Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213
The first of the seven sacraments, and the “door” which gives access to the other sacraments. Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification. Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist constitute the “Sacraments of Initiation” by which a believer receives the remission of original and personal sin, begins a new life in Christ and the Holy Spirit, and is incorporated into the Church, the Body of Christ.
Please contact Bridget or call 303-973-3969 to schedule a time to attend a Baptismal Class. All parents are required to take a Baptismal Preparation Class prior to the Baptism of their child. If not already, parents are strongly encouraged to become registered members of Light of the World.

Christian Witness for Baptism:
A Non-Catholic can be a Christian witness ONLY if accompanied by a Catholic godparent. A baptized and believing Christian who is not Catholic , but practicing in his/her Christian Faith, can act as a Christian witness, BUT NOT AS A GODPARENT.
Any Catholic, who has abandoned the faith, even if they now are active members in another Christian Church or community, may not serve as a Godparent or as a Christian Witness. They have separated themselves from the Church and cannot serve even as a witness.
