Liturgical Ministries:

Altar Servers:

  • Call: To assist with the celebration of the Sunday liturgies and special events.

  • Gifts Desired: You must be in the 3rd grade or older and must have received their first Holy Communion. Reverence, attentiveness, ability to think on your feet.

  • Commitment: To help at one Mass every 6 or so weeks. Parental support is very important.

  • Opportunity: To learn about the special times at Mass and your very special duties. You are required to come to a training session every year and be willing to learn new procedures as the altar moves!

Audio-Visual Ministry [Projection & Video & Sound]:

  • Call: To provide audio and visual aids to the community.

  • Gifts Desired: Basic knowledge of the order of the Liturgy. Special training and orientation will be provided.

  • Commitment: To commit to the schedule provided and to learn how to operate the equipment.

  • Opportunity: To make things happen behind the scenes!

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:

  • Call: To distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to the Assembly.

  • Gifts Desired: A joy-filled understanding of the Eucharist and a reverence for the people as the body of Christ; willingness to work as a team member to assure orderly and prayerful distribution.

  • Commitment: One Mass every three weeks and some Holy Days. A MANDATORY workshop is given each year for orientation.

  • Opportunity: To grow in Eucharistic spirituality.

Environment and Art:

  • Call: To create the atmosphere and mood of reverence and prayer for liturgies through the next year by implementing the ideas and visions of the Liturgy Planning Team.

  • Gifts Desired: Creative minds, artistic talent, willing hands, dreamers, designers. Skills with a needle & thread, hammer & nails and everything in between. An eye for color, form, design, aesthetics.

  • Commitment: Year-to-year. Willingness to work hard to help bring to life the visions and themes of the Liturgy Planners.

  • Opportunity: To see the work of your hands inspire others and bring them to a deeper experience of worship.

Hospitality Ministers:
Joe & Carol Marcus,

  • Call: To welcome people to the Liturgy, assertively assist with seating, collect the offertory, distribute bulletins after Mass and ensure that the Communion procession is a prayerful and orderly experience.

  • Gifts Desired: A friendly, helpful attitude. Self-direction and willingness to participate assertively in the process. Adults, Senior High youth, and families are welcome to minister.

  • Commitment: One Mass per month and some Holy Days. One training session is MANDATORY each year.

  • Opportunity: To meet new people.

Lectors:

  • Call: Proclaim the Word with care and enthusiasm in the liturgy. The Word of God is not merely print on the page. It is ALIVE and the News is GOOD!

  • Gifts Desired: A good, clear speaking voice, poise and a willingness to develop the ability to proclaim the Word.

  • Commitment: To be prepared and proclaim at one Mass per month. There is a MANDATORY workshop each year, plus seasonal practices.

  • Opportunity: To learn and LOVE the Word.

Music Ministry:

  • Call: To lead the community in prayerful song.

  • Gifts Desired: Vocalists: ability to match pitch, & follow direction. Instrumentalists: proficiency level in your instrument.

  • Commitment: Weekly choir practice and weekly liturgy with the seasonal additions.

  • Opportunity: To bring prayer to life through music and develop a spirituality of music ministry.
